Ag Loan Officer (Cortez, Colorado) 

Four Corners Community Bank—headquartered in Farmington, New Mexico—is seeking an experienced agriculture loan officer for its Cortez, Colorado location. Responsibilities include generating, analyzing, and administering an agriculture loan portfolio consisting of cattle, livestock, farm, ranch, and crop production operations. Compensation based on experience in addition to full benefits.

General education and experience requirements: Technical level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s-level program in business administration, finance, or related field. Minimum five years of experience in agriculture, commercial, real estate, or consumer lending. Knowledge and application of current lending policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations. Strong finance analytics, underwriting, time management, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Additional ag loan officer requirements: Must have proven ag credit analysis experience, current lending authority, and NMLS licensure. Must be comfortable working with farmers and ranchers on site as well as in a bank setting. General understanding of southwest Colorado agriculture is valuable and desired. Primary crops in this region include alfalfa, grass hay, pinto beans, and wheat. About 70 percent of the land is irrigated (the rest is dry land), with side roll and center pivot units. Cattle operations are mostly cow/calf making use of both Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management grazing allotments in season and some feeder lines. Familiarity with Farm Service Agency guarantees is desired.
